There’s no question about it – the Gold Cup Final at Cowdray Polo Club was electrifying in the polo stakes. The mighty La Indiana took on the cunning King Power Foxes and battled to secure a 9-5 victory as the excitable spectators clapped their hands, sipped their champagne and enjoyed what looked like the best picnics we’ve seen IRL.

However, you’d be forgiven if you spent just as much time taking advantage of the shopping, eating and drinking on offer – you’d have found us, along with hundreds of like-minded enthusiasts, at the Mucky Pheasant for most of the day. Drinks started flowing at 10am – Bloody Marys for all – and by lunchtime, our thirsty punters were doing their very best to drink the bar dry of Pimm’s and Prosecco. Clouds parted to reveal blazing sunshine by the time DJ Arielle Free took to the decks and we danced on the Land Rover, armchairs and picnic tables as the sun went down. No one wanted to leave when the bar shut at 10.30pm, which means, we hope, that we can pull an all-nighter next year… See you there!
